Hi, I want to get some estimates to compare to my current home and auto policies, both currently with one of the major insurance agencies.
Who would you recommend (or recommend we stay away from)?
I believe we are currently on the high side, but I can honestly say that every time we've had to make a claim, we couldn't have asked for it to go any better. Customer service goes a long way. So this is important as well if you've had such experiences.

Thanks!

Recently switched my home and auto policies from Geico to State Farm. Got better coverages for less money.

Never had a problem with customer service from either company... they both seem to be great in that area.

We've been with State Farm for 28 years, since my wife got her first car back in 1983. No problems with claims, always got everything more than covered on claims (I haven't had to "pay" the deductables), and the rates have been very reasonable. Maybe not the cheapest, but within say 10%-20% when you consider everything combined. I have like every discount available and guaranteed renewals, great when you have a 20 and 17 yr old as drivers.

Going to a new home you will get a discount too. More than likely your insurance won't go up much from what you are paying now, if at all. Also you can talk to them about Life insurance after you get a Home & Auto quote. See if that will give you any more of a discount, and then compare that life rate with a few other life companies, like my employer. You may need more anyway with the little one here now!
