The orange and white is still touching (excuse my electrical ignorance). Is the issue with my building that the white cable looks like it could potentially snap the orange cable?

Also, what do you think about this product for my awkward vent position? So that I can avoid the angle elbow thing

This is what it's like now. 66 inches wide, 68 inches depth. The width is ok, since 2x27 should fit I guess, just the dryer position is weird. I guess my options are either ventless dryer or using something like this

A sticky note? Really?

You're screwed unless you put your foot down! The vent is clearly in a poor position- any A-hole can see that! And now that it's covered with drywall just creates more work! If you had confronted, explained, and showed why the positioning in the other unit was a much more "user-friendly" setup, you wouldn't be dealing with stupid S#!T!

Now, they got you over a barrel- hope you enjoy your f'd-up laundry room.

You're right... I should have talked to the builder...

I am talking with them, pointing out the dining light fixture cutout was too close to the wall and not centered which they fixed, and let them know about missing pendants and incorrect windows.

I also just noticed this doozy today. It looks like the ice maker water line for the refrigerator is in the dining room, not the kitchen... I should have pointed it out before they put cabinets up. I will point it ASAP.

BTW, any estimate on how long that would take on delaying my house? Imagine they'd have to take down drywall and cabinets. Maybe there was a framing mistake that caused this. Honestly, I wanted a fridge without an icemaker or water, but still it looks silly.

They definitely missed on that one! It shouldn't be a big deal to fix. Cut holes in the drywall on both sides of the support post, drill through for the water line, repipe, patch and paint. Since it involves 3 trades, it may take a few days to sort it all out.

Structural support post. Drilling through it. Think about it.

Plumber.
A*s kicking.
Re-piping.
Done.

Looks like it will be one of those houses that looks real pretty (noting the crown molding, chair rail molding and wall molding) but you can't be sure what's behind all that.

The laundry room. We have a tight machine area too. Can't imagine using a side vent.

And the floor plan. I think you're in the south. Seems like the further south, the more politically correct the terms for the main bedroom, main bathroom.

Hope it all works out well for you.

There's already a wire drilled through the post. The plumbing looks like 1/2" PEX, so we're talking about a 3/4" hole. That won't affect the structural strength of (8) 2xs one little bit.
