Minnesotans support the team both Wild and North Stars even though they are not playoff bound. When I lived in Chicago in 2000, I could get lower level seats at the UC for under $20 almost any night. Once they got good, and Dollar Bill passed, they became the city darlings.

Minnesotans, by and large, didn't support the North Stars in the late 80's/early 90's - by 1990/91, they were attracting only 7800 people/game, less than half the league average, and were the only team to average less than 10,000 fans.

Thats more or less because of ownership. They were boycotting going to the games.
You dont think itd be unlikely that Yankee fans wouldnt attend Yankee games if the team were so poorly run (a la the Cubs)
The Washington Capitals have sold out every game for 3+ seasons. It's not fair to leave them out as a mention.
I should add that I have also attended games this season in San Jose, Los Angeles, and Raleigh and none of those arena's are as loud as The Verizon Center is. It's not even close.
SJ has one of the loudest buildings in the league, not sure what youre talking about.
Winnipeg, Montreal, MSG, Wells Fargo Center and United Center are all among the loudest with it.
