Tough loss for the Hawks and the Habs. Sabres looked a step off all night. Philly controlled play for the most part. The 'Garden' should be rocking tonight.

haha that's embarrassing. Also green man? Philly native. Why would he be cheering for the canucks?

Does anybody know how to find out the dates of the conference semifinal games? nhl.com is completely silent on that subject. and doesn't even acknowledge that there will even be another round.. espn.con says Vancouver plays Nashville Thursday night, but Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon, "No games scheduled". I know the NHL is incredibly slack about almost everything, but I can't believe the Red Wings and Sharks are sitting at home waiting for someone to tell them what day their next game will be.

Another "sudden death" game as Habs/Bruins go to OT. Pens down 1-0 going into the third. So we may possibly have another "sudden death".

Default Time for the second round!

Congrats to the Lightning and Bruins last night. Now we're all set for the second round matchups and predictions:

Eastern Conference:
#1 Caps vs. #5 Lightning-Caps did a lot of good things in beating the Rangers in 5 games, they have had time to heal the injuries to both Green and Knuble and they should be ready to go. Lightning did enough to beat Pens but offense is suspect as their big guns didn't really do the scoring as much as expected.
Key to series: Dwayne Roloson, he has shutout the Caps twice since coming over from NYI.
Prediction: Caps in 6

#2 Flyers vs. #3 Bruins-Rematch of last season's comeback by the Flyers down 3-0 to become only the third team in NHL history to win after trailing by that amount. Expect much of the same hitting that both teams used in the first round.
Key to series: Flyers goalies, will Boucher deliver.
Prediction: Flyers in 7

Western Conference
#1 Canucks vs. #5 Predators-First time for Preds in the second round. Could they continue to play well against the firepower of the Sedins.
Key to series: Luongo, he has to stop giving up juicy rebounds.
Prediction: Canucks in 6

#2 Sharks vs. #3 Red Wings-Should be the best matchup in the second round. Red Wings helped their cause by winning first round in sweep to rest.
Key to series: Can Sharks keep intensity?
Prediction: Red Wings in 7

Canucks/Preds tonight start the action.

It's nice that there is a good chance that the cup will go back to Canada, for the first time in 20 years.

Canucks pull out the 1-0 to lead the series by the same.

Tonight, a couple of game 1's. The Caps came out with intensity but then quit playing after 30 minutes and the Lightning just buried the Caps 4-2. Lightning lead 1-0.

Game 1 of Sharks/Red Wings had Wings with an early old but Sharks scored with 5 minutes left in the third then scored in OT to lead the series 1-0.
