My guess it has something to do with the drive thru. Does it have the new canopy over it like some of the others (cherrydale)? The new conveyor system to the second lane was put in the new Laurens rd store. Pretty neat but that would probably take longer than 6 weeks.
I read on FB that they are expanding the kitchen.
The Simpsonville location is #1 in the US for speed on the drive thru. I agree they should have rebuilt that location on Martin Farms due to how busy it is.

I think you mentioned a while back that the developer rejected Culver's because they didn't want any fast food there. Would that not apply to Chick-Fil-A as well?
It's been open since just after Thanksgiving and already mentioned in this thread but Haywood Mall's Lego Store will finally have it's official 'Grand Opening' celebration this weekend Feb 1-3. They will be building an 8.5ft tall Emmet (Lego movie construction worker guy) with legos you can help with, Fri 11-7, Sat 11-7, Sun 12-6. Some sales & freebies too but you probably have to spend past a certain $ amount to qualify for any of them. Still nice place to take the kiddos to kill some time.
Doesn't look like it includes the old Ingles site next to it. I wonder if they will rebuild there with all that residential coming. WOULD be terrible just to leave that eyesore building next to that nice development.

I have heard about this for several months in addition to the new 72,000-square-foot Ingle's #40 to be built on the site of the former store on State Park Road.

Good point! I actually forgot about that. It did come from the Culver's manager so take it for what is it worth. Plus I suppose the developer could change their minds. But it would be even crazier at Martin Farms than it is now with a Chick-fil-a there.
I don't see why they would be so restrictive at Martin Farms. It's not like they brought anything in unique or new to market that you can't get elsewhere in the GVL area. They still wound up with other outlying buildings with drive thru's like Panera. They should let Culvers in.
