Sorry, you're shooting off your mouth about people you know nothing about. My father was a gun nut, and I was well trained, and had guns of my own, and still do. I was on an adult shooting team when I was in high-school, and qualified as sharpshooter with .22, but was only so-so in trapshooting, where the first job I ever had that I got paid for was loading rocks. In ROTC, I topped my class on the rifle range. I've loaded my own ammo and bagged plenty of game.

So don't bother inviting me to come and watch you guys play with guns. Been there, done that.

", , , of said firearm." Jeez, you guys even think in cop-talk.

You misunderstood.

My suggestion was that Konraden offer to take his anti-gun roommate to the range and try to alleviate some of the fears he may have regarding weapons.

Incidentally, what was your favorite game to hunt?

The same caution would apply to making such an assumption about anyone you don't know, whether it's me or the roommate. Or the assumption that a person disinclined to use weapons has a "fear" of them.

Pheasants. By the way, when hunting, I do not think of my firearm as a "weapon", but rather a piece of sporting equipment.

No one invades Switzerland for the same reason no one picks fights with babies.

Don't laugh. You can crash an airliner into a building with tweezers. I guess. Why else would you take them away from passengers?

Since I'm not involved in any drug gangs and I'm not the police or the army, what have I got to worry about? If you're involved in drug marketing, yes, I suppose it is a good idea for you to defend your stash with an arsenal. But the rest of us don't need to bother with it.

I live in a city of 60,000, with 100 cops and an average of less than 4 murders a year. What should I be scared of? Why should I spend my life cowering in fear?

Since when are babies armed to the teeth!!!!

Guns keep you free - period. You go pound your guns into plowshares, and then you can (and will) plow for me cause I'll have guns, and you'll only have plowshares (and they will get well-used).

MahiAhiOno

P.S. I don't want you to really plow for me, I am just making a point. Sombody else who didn't pound their guns will, however, make you plow for them. I'll be fishing, instead.

M.A.O.

This statement leads me to believe you have no idea why the second amendment was written into the constitution in the first place.

I recommend you read a poem called "First They Came" by Martin Niemoller.

For the same reason you buckle your seatbelt when you drive. I wouldn't consider that action paranoid nor "cowering in fear."

As for the liberal groups that advocate banning of firearms, you need to pay attention to what they do, not what they say. Actions speak louder than words. They advocate any and all gun regulation, anything to disarm the American public because of their infantile fear. The Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994, lauded by Brady and Friends for taking the first steps towards what they called "sensible" regulation, despite "assault weapons" being the rarest firearms used in crimes. Or California, where the sale and transfer of ammunition could be so controlled (if the bill there passes) that you can't buy more than a box of ammo a month. Can't use a gun without bullets. Of course, I already pointed out the city in Illinois that banned firearms in its city. Remember that 15% increase in crime? What about Chicago, where politicians can carry self defense weapons, but the citizens they serve cannot.

It is the dream of the leftists to see the US a 'gun free' country, their arguments for this are old and tired, and don't hold water, yet still, they howl. Cting stats on child deaths from firearms, violent crime problems, gangs etc as their basis for disarming US citizens. "If it saves JUST ONE life" it is worth nullifying the 2nd amendment. OK, well, what about the lives that are saved by BEING armed? So maybe a two legged vermin lost his, so what. Is it really such a great loss? No. Some creep breaks into a home, the thought of rape and muder on his mind, his 'disease' is cured by a 230 grain cranial injection at 900 fps, end of problem. The people who count are still alive and well, thanks to proficiency with firearms. So, "If it saves just ONE life, it is worth it to be armed. Yes? I think so................
It is also worth noting that when they say "gun free", they only mean that the people are free of guns. Government, of course, will remain armed.

Sorry, all you control freaks and would-be tyrants (not taking about Mr. NVplumber, but the government is my SERVANT, and I'll keep the guns in my safe. If you have a problem with that, I might have to give you some ammo, or at least the pointy part of it.

The Founding Fathers had a name for it. Let's see, it is on the tip of my tounge. Let me see.... oh yes, its callled FFFFRRRREEEEEDDDDOOOOOOMMMM.
