The media & gossip shows are to blame for all this hoopla. Look how paris hilton & britney spears were covered & how miley cyrus is not a good role model for young girls. Most celebrities are annoying.

The Today show on NBC now runs 4 hours every morning. That is a lot of time to fill so the more they can drag a story like Michael Jackson or Tiger Woods out the more time they fill.

Most people don't really care who Tiger sleeps with but the Today show needs the controversy and income.

I'm just mad Tiger didn't invite me to some of his parties. After all I've done for him.

I am very disappointed in Tiger Woods. He was seemingly a well raised man, so when someone like him goes so far off the rails then we are thrown by it. It's not that I really care about his life, specifically, but just that we are thrown when what we thought was true, is not.

We live in a world that is obsessed with celebrity. I guess we want to live vicariously through our celebrities? We seek role models. However, instead of people looking around at others (family, neighbors, community members), we look to television to find us role models.

And once we put one of these celebrities on a pedestal (thanks to media) the media just waits until they can tear them down due to their human flaws (and sell some magazines and advertisements along the way).

The Today Show and other media outlets are not running stories about Tiger Woods because no one is interested. They are devoting hours to the story because they have determined that people are very interested. Of course many people are not interested but enough are that they can tell ratings are up when the topic is brought up so they increase coverage.

Yep. The TV Stations are providing what the public demands. And in so doing they increase their number of viewers. With increased viewers comes increased advertising revenue.

It's all about the money, really.

1) Why do people care what he does in his private life?
2) What these women who stepped forward want? (Aside from money and 10 min fame. As far as I know nobody accesses him of rape).
3) A female reporter, broadcasting from a nearby place asked: "but where is everybody?" (meaning she didn't know where TW and his family members were). What kind of question is that? Why should she know where he was?
What offends me more is people saying things like "Americans are obsessed with Celebrities."

NO WE AREN'T!
There are SOME that might be but I can pretty much bet that when this stuff comes on the televisions MOST of us turn it off or change the channel.

People never group all of us together for good comments. Always something shallow and negative.

And the reason people are interested is because the media has taken a very patient course over the last half century. People have been quietly (and, apparently, effectively) steered away from hard news. But then again, nobody should be surprised; the strategy is thousands of years old. When the ancient Romans--who didn't have television or the internet--did the same thing, it was called "bread and circuses."

Last I looked, adultery is against the law.

That being said, I couldn't care less about what TW does.

Tigers tramp count is up to 14 women over a period of 5 or so yrs. He was paying the hos 5-10k per month & one bimbo got 20k per month. Tigers staff took care of everything for him. These women thought they were the only ones. A few of them are discusting lke rachel uchiltel & jaimee G (i dont remember the skanks last name). Shes nasty like the porn star tiger had sexual relations with.
