Which I don’t get. That law was upheld by the Supreme Court over 40 years ago and the world didn’t end. Why are the Republicans still harping on this when there are so many other issues that are truly pressing and effect all of our lives, whether Democrat or Republican, which they should be addressing but are not.

Meanwhile, Hollywood so far seems generally to be showing little interest in boycotting the state of Georgia in response to Governor Kemp's signing of the highly-controversial 'Heartbeat bill' into law...
Hollywood doesn’t care about women. The #MeToo movement exposed that. So they’re not going anywhere unless their bottom lines are effected.

Because Republicans are not "pro-life" - their stances on healthcare, gun control, the environnment, and education have more than proven that. They are only "pro-birth."

The GOP really overplayed their hand on this one. Yes it will rile up conservatives, but it will also rile up Democrats. From a strategic point of view, if you're going to pick on someone just to win an election, you need to pick on people who make up a small minority of the population. You should not be picking on women, who make up the majority of the voting population.

Whether men like it or not, abortion has been with us since the dawn of man and all cultures have practiced some form of it. Ancient cultures not only practiced abortion, but also infanticide. Back then, it was done for the survival and well being of the tribe, and many times the mother had no say in whether it was done. Today, unwanted pregnancies are poorly planned pregnancies still negatively impact society, but have the most profound effect on women. Fortunately, modern medicine has made the practice safe and humane. The push to illegalize abortion historically was usually linked to a husband's dominance and "ownership" of his wife. In those cultures, it was acceptable to terminate a pregnancy with the husband's approval.

Republican politicians don't care about babies once they are born. Especially if they're nonwhite, poor, or both.

According to this law women who leave the state to have an abortion where it’s legal would be charged with conspiracy to murder when they came back. Women are basically slaves in this state now.

The nation’s strictest abortion law, making it a felony
to receive an abortion, with no exception for rape or
incest is a triumph for the unborn of this great nation.

In 2018 GA was ranked 11th Worse State for women's healthcare. I'm certain this will drop us lower on the list, since anti-abortion strides are directly linked with undermining gynecological care. Over half of GA women already live in counties that don't provide it. Studies with different ways of measuring already suggest that strict anti-abortion laws or outright bans only affects safe abortion rates. I wonder if the majority of women to be tried under this law will be white, since they have the highest rate of abortions here anyway--- mass imprisoning of white women, what are heterosexual men to do? Tuh. This is sickening. I await GA's eventual change and if I'm lucky enough to grow old I know I will see it.

This one should be too.

Whether or not the SC will uphold precedence once the case works its way to that level remains to be seen.

While that is true, it shows what the state lawmakers elected by the population think about women:

Property of the state. Second class citizens. Being challenged doesn't change that's how those elected to run the state see half of their constituency. As a woman, how could I ever feel safe?

That's fun to say till you realize that young women will be killing themselves with coat-hangers and "butcher" abortionists. Killing 2 for the low low price of legislating personal morals. Don't we ALL just love it when someone else tells us what we can/can not do? Fun Times!
