Rhode Island has a large number of residents from the Caribbean, particularly the Dominican Republic. This DR group makes up an estimated 5% of the state's population which is the highest for any state. They mostly live in the urban core which includes Providence, Pawtucket, Central Falls, and Cranston. RI also has a large concentration of Liberians that fled the nation during its civil wars. Most of these settled in the neighboring cities of Providence and Pawtucket.

Rhoe Island isn't as Haitian as MA, its more on an NJ type-level in terms of its share of the west Indian population. Many smaller islands represented.

Boston is so Cape Verdean Mayor Marty Walsh went to Cape Verde and he was given a street to name on the Island of Fogo. There is now a "Boston Street" in the West African nation of Cape Verde.

Boston police even went to Cape Verde, to sure up relations with the Police/community in Praia..

Maryland isn't the northeast technically... and practically it's a mix of southern (Western Maryland/Southern Maryland and Eastern Shore) and northern (Central Maryland/DMV, Baltimore and points North/Northeast of Baltimore).

Demographically, Maryland definitely resembles the South (one of the largest African American population in the country, in urban, suburban, and rural areas; white population is mostly British/German/Irish/American and more Protestant than the Northeast; Hispanic populations are newer and being dominated by Central Americans and Mexicans).

(Portland, Maine, and Lewiston, Maine are tops but I'm sort of ignoring them due to overall irrelevance and very small black populations)

If we're talking decent sized relevant cities with a real black community?

1. Providence
2. Boston
3. New York City
4. Miami
5. North Jersey

6. Minneapolis/Hartford
7. DC
