The city council is 100% right on this one.

And yet, several people will still be paranoid about the Stockyards being bulldozed and turned into another Disneyland...

I'm confused. Is the Citizen Theater no longer going to be there?

No, they sold the land.

I believe they're looking for another location closer to downtown.

I think it's fairly obvious at this point that the people behind Citizen Theater don't have the money to make it happen. That project was announced nearly 8 years ago. Good folks with good intentions, but projects with money behind them have a way of happening.

That's true.

It is disappointing that the arthouse theater won't happen on this lot. But this is a hell of a replacement for it.

Nothing to do with money. Only to do with parking (and overflow into streets of neighboring homes). Same project will happen in the same neighborhood but different location.

So it's taken 8 years to find a location without the same parking issues? I'll believe that when it happens.
