The days of the "traditional mall" are fading. Ridgmar really isn't as needed now that Hulen added on. Honestly, it's he only mall that should be in western Ft. Worth.

It would be interesting to see what they do with Ridgmar.

The sculpture that exists now will be a better feature with more development around it.

There are now districts and they have names.

- East Island
- West Island
- And the Houseboat District

A look at what the skyline could potentially be...*

This is where the new Panther Island Pavilion is supposed to be after all is built. Looks to feature a fixed amphitheater and plenty of greenspace.

If LaGrave field survives, it could be a mini-Wrigley Field*

"West Island" from I-35

The Marine Creek section of the Stockyards is featured on the new model.

It also features the exact plan of Left Bank

A shot of the highrise in Left Bank, along with the few projected condos on "West Island"

The houseboat district is a nice distinct name. The only thing I wish that would be added to Panther island development is a beach front section. I would put it over by the downtown Lake area. One of the complaints about DFW is we don't have a lot of recreational activities by our lake. This is a perfect opportunity to make it happen. I really think this project has the potential to not only be a place locals enjoy but a tourist trap as well if it's done right.

I am excited about it too, but I wonder about water quality and how many people would want to actually use the water recreationally (canoeing, kayaking, SUPing, or even letting kids wade in the water and be on a beach near the water). I enjoy the Trinity for what it gives us, but I also have no illusions about just how rank that water is. Unless, of course, there is some way to improve water quality. To me, it appears to be a large drainage ditch.

Thanks for posting the pics. I enjoy this thread and check in to this website almost exclusively to see this thread!

I wish Congress would bring back earmarks so this project can be completed quicker.

I pretty sure we all know the Trinity isn't exactly a sparkling mass of clean water... but I'm sure they have plans for it. After all, it will have flood gates and whatnot.

I actually like the idea of moving the Panther Island section over to what's basically just a big parking lot now (and former site of the old Tandy Subway line) so that it can free up room for the 4th of July celebrations or any other outdoor concerts if they wanted.

Of course, but that's not what I wrote. When Kdog817 expressed the idea that it would be nice to add a beach for easy access to the water, it seemed logical to raise the water quality issue.

Furthermore, there's a whole spectrum between "sparkling mass of clean water" and hazardous to human health. I would be very interested to hear from informed parties about what the plan is to improve the water quality and I very much hope that this is a part of the plan. Merely having floodgates won't solve the matter, I'm afraid.
