Facebook Data Center, the Lancaster Corridor plans (with some of the buildings beginning construction as we speak), Chu Eyeworks on the corner of University and 7th beginning construction, the Stockyards redevelopment plans, Left Bank starting up, the several Near Southside projects that are beginning...

No offense, but that's awfully pessimistic considering what has been announced and what is being built now. D.R. Horton going over to Arlington, while disappointing, isn't exactly going to make or break this city.

Beautiful, can't wait.

I have to ask because maybe you would know. What is the latest on Victory Medical Center? I know their parent company/owner went bankrupt so Construction Halted. I am praying and hoping someone takes over because that was really the build that started all of the Southside Urban Village.

Someone I know brought that up a few weeks ago. It has stalled, but is expected to continue construction soon under a different name.

Another company brought the building and it may have a a few different uses.

As a matter of fact, here's what will actually replace what was supposed to be one of the parking lots, just one block north of Victory.

510 S. Main

Alliance Airport is expanding...

The main runway will be extended from 9600 to 11000 feet (2880 to 3300 m) in order to be able to handle the largest commercial cargo planes.

Do you know where I can find any more info on this project? I'm assuming the high-rise residential will be condos. Will be looking to buy a place in the next several years and that looks pretty ideal for my purposes, and I'd like to keep my ear to the ground about this project.

Farmer Bros. new HQ in Alliance.

http://www.star-telegram.com/news/bu...ng_Option%2001

Quote:
Farmer Bros. has officially begun its relocation from Torrance, Calif., to North Texas and now has about 50 employees working from an interim headquarters off Westport Parkway near Alliance Airport.

The coffee maker and distributor opened its interim office last month and should have more than 100 employees here by the end of the year, CEO Michael Keown said today at a groundbreaking ceremony for its new corporate headquarters to be built in Northlake on open land east of Interstate 35 across from the Texas Motor Speedway.

The 537,000-square-foot facility will stretch from I-35 east to Ashmore Lane, north of Texas 114, with the corporate office fronting I-35. The complex will also include 100,000-square-feet of manufacturing space, where coffee beans from some 30 countries will be roasted and packaged. There will also be 300,000 square feet of distribution space.

H&M is ok, clothing is trendy and certainly not investment pieces. Good to keep up with trends. I like the shoes/accessories. The Sam Moon of the clothing world....

BUT I will be able to browse on the way home from work.
