MB-the Easter pie is that the Italian Easter pie? Yum.
Yes! lol
I've gotten the recipe from my mom- in-law....since she "created a monster" by having my husband (her son) completely "hooked" on it.....LOL....and it's no Easter holiday for him, unless he has this pie.
My first try was last year...but, she makes the whole thing from scratch, crust and all.
I've tried making the crust last year...but, it didn't turn out well at all, and we ended up just eating the filling.....LOL
This year, however, she advised me to just get the refrigerated pie dough/ crust....and it turned out AWESOME!
I am just not good, in making pie crust from scratch....no matter how many times I've tried.
I finally gave up on this issue.......LOL.
Those Easter pies are a little time consuming (but not to bad)....and my MIL told me, that places are selling them (up in NE Pennsylvania) for more then $25 a pop....YICKES!!!!
MB2-I tried many years ago as a newlywed to impress my DH by making pie crust. Leave it at the kitchen and I looked like Casper the Ghost-thank heavens for Pillsbury rolled crusts!!
Making those delicious Easter pies is very expensive and time consuming but well worth it.

LOL....*MB making a mental pic of Lacy covered with flour*....ROTFL!
I am not sure what the heck it is with that pie dough, because I followed the instruction to a "T".....just to still miserably fail at it!
Some just "whip" it up, like it's nothing (like my MIL)......Me....I'm turning green with envy.....LOL.
Our family went to Outback Steakhouse yesterday after church. It was the first Easter in many, many years that I didn't cook, so I'm a little melancholy today. DH has a dentist appointment this afternoon, so I'm sure whatever I fix for dinner tonight will have to be on the soft side. It's getting a little cooler, so I'd like to fix Chili and Mexican Cornbread, but that might not go well after dentistry stuff. Maybe I'll just fix potato cheese soup and rolls.
Well Crazyworld, depending on where you are in N. England, if you leave right now you can be sitting down eating the piccata around 11:00. If you are too tired I can whip up a honey baked ham sandwich or kielbasa and red cabbage with whipped, buttered shallot mashed potatoes from yesterday, but they are "left overs" lol, or-------ham and green split pea soup that is simmering on the stove right now!
