Nomad, I'll get a bucket of one, you can get the other. However, the gator's entirely up to you. Say, there's one in our "lake" by the pool. If you care to catch him, he's yours!

I had never had fried green tomatos till a couple years ago. I loved'em. The reason why I made them..... My hub ordered some tomato seeds he was convinced by this infomercial would produce 100s of lbs of tomatos. Now remember they came as seeds. He babied them for weeks till they became little sprouts of life. Finally put them in the ground soil. Gaurded them with fenceing from the birds. Finally flowers, and then tomatos on the vine. Well normal work day for me except papa brings my niece to my house. Some change in plans caused 2 kiddos to be babysat by papa. Anyhoo I get home from work to a very unhappy hub. My niece and son decided to go on a tomato picking spree. Not one tomato left onthe vine... picked green and all I felt bad but made the best of a rotten situation. FRIED GREEN TOMATOS.

Sometimes in life in the works of Jimmy Durantee you need to learn to make lemonade out of lemoms. You did good kid. Now I wish I had some for dinner. Only have red in the house so they will get used tonight. We may have BLT's tonight for dinner. Ideas keep coming in here.

As Forest says "Life's a box of chocolates"-but in your case "fried green tomatoes."

Oh Noma-Jimmy Durante used to polish my grandfather's shoes.

And this is a true story! It was a big laugh, eventually, after her hubby got over the shock and that took quite awhile! Those tomatoes were getting so big and just beautiful..so pretty the kids just had to pick em and that they did. We still laugh over that! I haven't yet tried fried green tomatoes but once I get over my latest failures I might give them a try! Ha!
