Five million years ago, this entire area was underwater and not by millimeters. Twenty thousand years ago, Florida’s land mass was about 3x what it is now. I don’t know if we know the rate of that change but I assume that there were many centuries where the rate varied. None of that sea level change was caused or influenced by man. Common sense and just a tiny bit of knowledge makes me believe that the “climate crisis” is nothing more than a political boondoggle.

Idiocy. Do you deny that the overwhelming majority of climate scientists find your statements grossly inaccurate?

Man-made climate change resulting from fossil fuel consumption has occurred within the past 150 years, creating in a relatively minuscule period of time dramatic aberrations in the earth's environment not seen in hundreds of thousands of years.

Admittedly, mankind has triggered natural feedback loops, such as the thawing of the permafrost which is releasing large amounts of carbon dioxide and methane, perhaps overwhelming mankind's efforts to reign in carbon emissions by transitioning away from fossil fuel consumption.

and all of the increase in CO2 has come...directly or indirectly from China

....the USA has not increased it's CO2 emissions...not even one molecule....in over 50 years

China now emits over twice as much CO2 as the USA....China emits more CO2 than the USA, EU, Russia, and Japan all combined

..and China is building even more coal plants as fast as they can

nothing screams SCAM more than "we" have to do something...when "we" includes everyone but China

Totally agree. Man has continued to build along the coastline and common sense will tell you it is the reason for erosion, not the climate.

Default Not all scientists agree with climate change

Using "that the overwhelming majority of climate scientists" is actually misinformation. Not all scientists agree with your statements. There is always another side to a coin, unfortunately our government claims whatever it wants people to believe, in education and otherwise. You, like our current government, lacks the ability or listen to others opinions when they vary from your own beliefs.

So now you're making a misleading, ridiculous argument popular among man-made climate change deniers in order to turn attention away from your unsubstantiated claim that Univ. of Miami researchers cherry picked data?

Note that U.S. per capita CO2 emissions (click on CO2 emissions per capita in the following link) are more than double those in China, and also consider that the U.S. accounts for a significant portion of China's emissions as we import vast amounts of manufactured goods from China, raising China's carbon emissions and lowering ours.

https://www.worldometers.info/co2-em...ns-per-capita/

China's population is over 4 times that of the U.S. and the U.S. population is less than 3 times that of Japan. Are you suggesting that the U.S. should lower its carbon emissions ASAP by at least 2/3s to reach the level of total carbon emissions in Japan, as apparently you believe that China shouldn't emit more CO2 than the U.S. despite its much greater population? And what would U.S. CO2 emissions be like today if we had continued to produce most of our manufactured goods internally, AND still exported large quantities of CO2-intensive manufactured goods?

And cumulative U.S. CO2 emissions still dwarf those of China.

https://ourworldindata.org/contributed-most-global-co2

The reality is that continued fossil fuel consumption by anybody and the resulting emissions will further accelerate sea level rise to the great detriment of Florida. We can't request the rest of the world to cut fossil fuel consumption and reduce emissions when we remain a leading polluter.

What does erosion have to do with accelerating sea level rise???

Please post those CLIMATE scientists or OCEANOGRAPHERS that disagree that sea level rise is accelerating. Do you dispute that NASA/NOAA scientists state with no reservations that sea level rise is accelerating?

I applaud your tenacity in this regard and agree with you. There will be those who will never be convinced though.

nope, two things can both be true at the same time

...I just made the only argument that makes sense....and per capita just points out the scam...increasing CO2 (global warming) does not care how many people do it

per capita is the global warming equivalent of reparations.....

well it's hard to convince people when out of one side of their mouth they say increasing CO2 is going to kill us all.....

...and out of the other side...they say China.. it doesn't effect China...and China can increase it's CO2 emissions all they want
