I started when I was about 16. Oil of Olay because both my mother and grandmother used it and they had FABULOUS skin.
Fourty years later I'm still using it and now I'm getting the compliments on how wonderful my skin is. (Also put it on my arms and legs first thing in the morning as soon as the weather starts to get hot and the sun more intense. Repeat as necessary. It's my day and night cream. And it's cheap. Love my Oil of Olay!)
My mother had another trick. She kept hand cream at the kitchen and bathroom sink. Every time she washed her hands she also rubbed in a squirt of hand cream. She had hands like silk. (Obviously I'm doing the same myself!)
Sometime in my late 40's. Up until then I was using stuff to dry up the oil. Then...BAM...straight into menopause and dry skin. LOL. I only use a light gel moisturizer, no SPF.
I started using Clinique when I was 13, as soon as they came out with SPF moisturizer, I added that as well.
I have just now started using an eye cream, I have noticed a bit of loss of elasticity, but my skin looks great for my age.
Im 29 and Ive never regularly used moisturizer.. I also tan (outside) on a regular basis... no wrinkles yet!! I also dont wear makeup and Im easy to sweat.. (gross I know..) but it's the Cuban part of my genes..!
Its probably gonna bite me in the ass in 10 years or so... sigh.
See, when I was a pre-teen (10-11 ish) I was never interested in ANY of that stuff. I didnt care what my mom wore, or about makeup etc.
Most of what I know now about makeup application I was forced to learn as a teenager by a pushy gay man friend of mine. lol
