I noticed in the "I love it when guys wear" thread that there were some posts knocking guys who wear flip flops. Over the past few summers the shoes have been pretty popular amongst the 20/30 something crowd. I've had a few female friends in the past try to convince me to wear them although I never had the courage to go through with it lol. They seem comfortable but then I think about the image that I would projecting and would feel kinda awkward wearing them.
What do you ladies think? Let's assume that the guy keeps his feet clean and looking halfway presentable. Do you like to see him wearing flip flops with shorts or not?
My female friends and I have talked about this before. We all agreed that we do not like men walking around in flip flops unless of course you are somewhere on a beach. Guys walking around in flip flops just doesn't look right to me for some reason.

Yeah that is kinda what I was thinking. I wear tennis shoes with shorts and while some people don't care for the look it seems to be more socially acceptable. Flip flops are comfortable but so are pajamas but most guys don't want to wear them around town either.
Mind if I ask what age range you are in? 20s, 30s, etc. Seems the early 20 somethings are most into the flip flops but I could be wrong.
If you don't wear flip flops here you look kind of odd. And that's whether or not you're 15 or 50.
Heck I've been to plenty of restaurants that are basically $50 a person types and see men wearing flip flops. And they aren't teenagers or college students.

I am in my 20s and so are all of my friends. You're right most people in my age group are into flip flops but I still don't really like guys in flip flops.

Why such hate?
I'm from SoCal and have worn flip flops for years, and wear them here in Denver when it's warm enough. I get a new pair every year and wear them out. Apparently people back east are uptight about the casualness of the West.
There is not a thing wrong with wearing them with shorts, or to take out the trash or around the house on weekends. I think the objections come when a grown man does not have a clue about inappropriate attire..whatever that may be. It's about the situation.
Maybe decent sandals are OK, but not cheap rubber things.
AS long as they take care of their feet...I think it's wonderful...I have seen males with very clean soft well kept feet...and I have seen women with ugly dry feet...
Feet are wonderful to look at...as long as their well kept...regardless of gender...
