No, that is not at all what she/he is saying. I made a comment that many people get carded, even though they are over 60 years old. That doesn't mean they look 20. That just mean the clerk is covering his or her ass. So Jdawg8181 was just responding to me.
That's what I was going to say, also. Being carded doesn't mean you look younger.
Some bosses are on clerks to card EVERYone, even people who clearly are over a given age. And it IS what they're supposed to do.
(Sometimes agencies will send people in covertly just to catch clerks and other workers NOT carding people. So the best way not have to deal with that is card everyone. And I get it. I am clearly over 21, 31, and 41...but I get it. I try NOT to get mad at people when they're just doing their job. I may think it's stupid -- or in other instances disagree with it, and not be happy....but it's not the employee's fault. So why take it out on them. Like the rest of us, they're just trying to do their job and go home.)
Even people who have had facelifts and treatments on their face have hands, necks, and decolletage that belies what was done to their face. I know a woman like this. Got her age spots and some wrinkles worked on. Her face is technically smooth, but the skin below her face on her neck doesn't match (like women who apply foundation to their face but it stops at the chin line). And the skin on her face just looks kind of stretched and smoothed out and dull--no glow, no plumpness, no natural texture.
I wonder if they did not realize there is two parts to keeping a younger face, good skin care and minimizing wrinkles.
Our tax consultant - he is in his upper 60's. He looks like a typical older guy to me. We saw him Friday. He mentioned something about doing taxes as his retirement job where he works 3 months out of the year and gets 8 months off. My automatic "I want to make your day" response..."really....are you in your 50's?" He looks delighted and says "I am 67."

I mean you're right but I could probably pass for 17. I pass for 22/23 @ most industry events or conferences I attend … but then again I'm there with a nametag for a company and wearing a suit.
Had I had on chuck taylors and a jansport or something, yeah, I think I could pass for 17.

Oh, but that IS what he's saying that he's 37, and could pass for 17.
He's made it pretty plain that's what he's saying....

So there's this ongoing thread in the Work and Employment section where a male poster who is 62 claims he is repeatedly mistaken to be 25-30 from various sources. He also mentioned that he's seen an older man in his seventies that looks to be in his forties.
Me personally I've never met anyone who could pass off for 20 years younger, let alone more. 10-15 years maybe but that's not too many. I just don't think it's possible minus the hair dye, makeup, and surgeries. I think there's some people who look great for their age but their face doesn't hid the lines and wrinkles.
Do you think it's possible to look 20+ years younger than your age? How many people have you seen in your lifetime that fits in that category?
I have an 80 year old male neighbor who could pass for 70 but no I have never seen someone who could pass for 20 years younger. My niece is 30 and she could pass for 20 or even younger at the moment. I do believe she often gets carded.
