Barbie measurements ARE unrealistic, and insisting otherwise does not change that!
Geez!
You seems to have body image issues, along with not knowing the meaning of average and normal.

As a side note, when I was in my early 20's I was a size 00. I will never forget the agony I felt when we got a shipment of size 000 jeans. In those days, my only meal for the day was a Mrs. Field's walnut brownie.

She insisted that "everyone wore a size 00" and "if you wore a size 0 you were obese". Her perception of what was "common" and "normal" was seriously skewed.

I already brought up how it is an average for many skinny women. As a 22-23 inch is pretty normal if your body weight is low.

From this end it just seems you don't know what the meaning of skinny is.

But Barbie doesn't wear a corset

I actually know a lot of skinny women who have the dimensions 36-22-33. A corset can easily make a 22" waist into a 16" waist. Barbie was made in the day when this was not out of the norm. Average skinny women wore corsets at that time and looked just like her due to this.

Sure, if you're sucking it in and pulling the tape measure nice and snug.

I have been a size 00 when I was younger. But I have always eaten 3 course meals 3 days a week. I'm an ectomorph so I tend to be underweight.

She was made in the day when girdles were popular so that was the desired look.

You can't suck the waistline in... You're talking about the lower tummy.... The waist is above that....

Corsets abnormally distort the the female shape, girdles do not. Girdles are a form a shapewear, which simply smooth out bulges and minimized muffin tops. They are used to create a hourglass shape, not to create a freakishly small waistline. I sold lingerie for many years, so I know my way around a girdle; the most you'll shave off is and inch or two, which gets redistributed to other areas.

Yes, you can suck in the waistline, particularly when your torso is short, as mine is.
