In Fairbanks virtually everything is traded on Craigslist or Facebook marketplace & local buy/sell pages.
You're going to need to open your mind to a new definition of a "nice" apartment. The climate here is very hard on structures. I'll say again that getting a place with the heat included in the rent is important. Also look for a mention of a plug-in for your vehicle.
