True enough. That's why I'm always a little surprised reading these boards when people talk about how horrible Obama's ads have been. Truth be told if he's not come close to sinking to the same places McCain has. I can think of a dozen ads he could have done, on topics he seems to have dubbed no goes, that are much more on the level of McCain's and a lot nastier than any Obama has chosen to use.

Three quarters of McCains speeches are just attacks on Obama. The other quarter is on how he's got the scars. Very very little on how he is actually going to pay for all his policies or even what his policies are.
In his defense, negative attacking politics have a long history of working.

Oh my god that is horrible. (jk) Horrible, mean, evil and....funny as all get out.

Palin's plane may rate as one of my favorite political visuals ever.

They most certainly do and we have all seen the effectiveness of fear based politics. I mean just one look at the postings on this forum should be a clear indication of how well they work and to what the target audience is.

Absolutely. For further proof, if it is needed, just check out the numerous blogs and so called news sites. And speaking of that, since paper dared, I'm going to dare post another one that fits right in with the target audience.

There's a whole bunch of them over at another site. That was my favorite.

How the heck did I miss that thread? I love how all the toys are used as the equivalent in all the Palin ones. The Palin/Tella Tubby one might just be my very favorite.

Default Not McCain's fault

The current GOP meltdown has been years in the making and McCain has played only a minor role in the latest chapter. It's true enough that his campaign has been dismal, but I get the impression that Mack is pretty much following a script force fed to him by Republican "strategists" who are serving up the same old character assasination and fear mongering that worked for Rove and Bush the past two times.

The public now sees that the GOP has no clothes.

He did hire on a lot of Bush's old crew even those that tossed him under the bus on 2000.

LOL, here's another intriguing day dream:

What would happen if McCain arrived at one of his speeches and simply said:

"My friends, I'm tired. And you guys are going to throw me under the bus anyway, so why should I continue? I'm going home to Arizona to soak in my hot tub. In other words, I concede."

Would Sarah become the candidate? Would the GOP have an emergency vote and name Romney? Or would it then become Obama vs. the third party candidates?
