Obama Acceptance Speech Gets High Marks From Public

Obama’s speech is TV ratings home run | csmonitor.com

Top Trolls on City Data Thinks Obama's Speech Sucked

Fifty-eight percent of Americans give Barack Obama's speech a positive review, including 35% who describe it as "excellent." Both marks surpass those given to the 2000 and 2004 presidential candidates, with the excellent ratings for Obama's speech 10 percentage points higher than any other recent candidate has received.

“Democrats give Obama’s speech rave reviews, with 62% saying it was an excellent speech and another 21% describing it as good. A majority of independents rate Obama’s speech as either excellent (27%) or good (25%), but Republicans were less impressed (12% excellent and 25% good).”

Oprah Winfrey: "I cried my eyelashes off. I think it's the most powerful thing I have ever experienced. He's not an African-American candidate. He's a candidate for Americans."

Hillary Clinton: "His speech crystallized the clear choice between he and Sen. McCain."

House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, D-S.C.: "When Obama came out on the stage tonight, I lost it for a moment. … I really did. I have been trying hard all week to control my emotions. But I lost it for a while."

Pat Buchanan: "It was a genuinely outstanding speech. It was magnificent. It is the finest — and I saw Cuomo's speech, I saw Kennedy in '80, I even saw Douglas MacArthur, I saw Martin Luther King — this is the greatest convention speech. … This came out of the heart of America and he went right at the heart of America."

David Gergen: "In many ways it was less a speech than a symphony. … It was a masterpiece."

What surprises me is how vitriolic Obama-"haters" comments are...promote the qualities of your candidate (wait, impossible in your case) instead of trying to detract from the other candidate's superiority by spouting negative nonsense.
