My mom's birthday is Wednesday and I want to take her somewhere with a great view. I guess I prefer a view of downtown, since it will be at night.
I would prefer something that is not 5 star, but still good food. Italian would be great.
I know about Simm's Landing (heard bad stuff about their service but leaning towards this one), Flagstaff House Restaurant (menu is TOO sophisticated and pricey for this bunch), The Fort (once again, crazy menu), The West End Tavern (this menu is too happy hour-ish), Lola (Mom hates seafood)... have I found everything??
Is there a diamond in the rough I haven't been able to find?????
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!

Baby Doe's still there? Gr8 view there and some pretty good prime rib back in the day.

How about Robin's Nest or one of those places up on Lookout Mountain? Any places up there do dining for anything besides wedding receptions and stuff?

Back in the day, maybe 20 years ago...Britanny Hill! Thornton/Northglenn area. But good view? I don't know if it's even there or what the food/service would be like.

Oh! Where did Northwoods Inn move to? Don't know if they have a view now or not, but good basic solid food and service. Traildust! Great steaks, appetizers! Rocky Mountain Oysters! Beans! 34 oz Porterhouses! Yum! Then you can take the kids on the slide! Who needs a view with all that entertainment! Line-dancing if that's your thing. Country Dinner Playhouse! Flick and a meal! Heritage square? Anything in Golden, Denver West, etc.

The Emerald Isle on Parker Rd & Quincy is bar/restaurant with a spectacular view of the dam, state park and mountains from their back deck. At night you could see the lights of the Denver Tech Center skyline in the distance-- which is actually kind of cool. Not sure if that's what you had in mind though.

Both gone

How about the Hyatt Regency or Yia Yia's in the Denver Tech Center.

The deck at Vita, right next to Lola. Better food and atmosphere to boot!

not italian but a great view and wonderful food in a very nice atmosphere... "the fort" in morrison, esp at night. the buffalo filet mignon is excellent and a huge wine list. weve taken everyone who visits us to this place and they have all loved it.

I hear that they are considering renting out Brittany Hill for events and such. We tried to eat there but could never get someone to even greet us. We settled for getting our drink at the bar and then sitting at a table. Fantastic views. What a shame.

I think they are owned by Calif. company. I wonder if the company just hasn't come out here to see it's locale. I think it'd make a lot of money if they'd only make some changes with staff.

I would recommend dinner at Carmine's on Penn, Pasty's in the Highlands or even Pasquini's on Broadway and then head for drinks on the 27th floor of the Hyatt downtown. Currently, I don't think you will find Italian food with a view.
