Where's a good place where I can overlook the city of Denver? And while we're at it, is there a good mountain park area where I can park and just overlook the area?

Look at the Sticky at the top of the page "Official Index - key threads - photo tours. Maybe you could get some ideas from the many photo tours that others have done.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science has a fantastic view of the skyline with the mountains in the background.

From Red Rocks you can see the city, and beyond, all the way out to the airport.

City Park has the best view, as above. It's a little harder to stop and check it out, but as you go east down Speer towards I-25 from west Denver, the view is equally spectacular.

City park is pretty sweet but just to throw out two more.......

The rooftop deck at Linger(restaurant in highlands) is amazing at night to see the skyline and for something up close and personal try the Peaks lounge at the top of the Hyatt in downtown.

Try driving down Smoky Hill Road in Aurora. There are many amazing views of the city. I take pictures there all the time.

For a place to overlook the city, I highly suggest going to Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison Colorado. dinosaur ridge - Google Maps Looks better in person

I agree that city park is one of the best places to view the city. However, if you don't mind the lack of mountains, a great view of the skyline exists coming into town along Speer southeast from I-25! That is about as good as it gets from a strictly skyline point of view!

The easy, Lookout Mountain. Just park on any of the pullouts on Lookout Mountain Road. I used to love going up there in the fall and watching the lights from the even rush hour traffic coming out of town.

Also Mt. Falcon, but you have to do a bit of hiking to get the view. Plus its a bit far from the city. See the below pictures.

This is from Deer Creek Canyon, I personally think the pictures with the mountains in the background though are better
