Ok, but were talking about theory what could or should be done. In reality, there is no going back. Were along for the ride. There will be no new lockdown and even if there was no one would adhere to it since the state wont enforce it.

Multiple countries have been reopening successfully (at least so far), so it is quite possible to do it correctly, and not based on politics

It's Dallas and Houston that aren't doing well. The rest of the state shouldn't have to suffer any lockdowns. Perhaps we should put yellow caution tape around the two cities.

Even that’s not right. By county Harris is staying steady. The suburban counties in Houston are the ones seeing the biggest peaks.

But this is America. We aren’t coordinated enough for that.

We’re along for the ride and there’s nothing we can do about it.

The total number of COVID related hospitalizations has reached 2000 in Texas for the first time. Dallas county reached 70% of hospital beds occupied for the first time. That number includes non COVID patients.

I have it on good authority that the Covid-19 floors in three major Dallas hospitals are either full or nearly full. I won’t go so far as to suggest the entire city is in crisis, but I suspect that there should be cause for concern.

I suspect it would take what happened in New York for us to take this seriously

I will not panic yet. I am trying to get the breakup of that 70% between Covid and non-Covid patients, from the Mayor's office. I will post those numbers.
