for the past several days, we are seeing new cases everyday here in DFW. At first, the virus was contracted because people traveled to other states, now we are seeing people getting the virus without traveling outside of Texas. Clearly, things are getting worse.
To slow down the spread of the virus, personally, i really think every state needs to quarantine itself. We need to stop people traveling from one state to another, just like what Italy and China are currently doing. After we quarantine every state, once we have enough test kits, 4 million test kits should be available by this weekend according Pence? we will start testing people for the virus.
I really think only testing the ones showing symptoms is not enough. For example, say i somehow contracted the virus, but im in the incubation period and i am not showing any symptoms. Without knowing I have the virus, i continue to interact with other people. In a few weeks, once i start showing symptoms, i have already contracted the virus to x # of people. What is scary about the situation is as of now, we have no idea how many people here in DFW already contracted the virus, but not showing any symptoms, since they are in the incubation period. It could be 0, which is highly unlikely, or it could be 100, and these people as we speak, are still interacting with their family members, friends and colleagues.
I really think this is how the virus became so widespread in Italy in such short period of time. And as someone lives in DFW, i really hope that what is happening in Italy now doesn't happen here in DFW in the next few weeks.

You are talking about containment but I don't think it is possible at this time. For people in incubation period, especially in the first few days when virus concentration is low, there is no guarantee that they will be positive for the test.

So you need to test 8 million people in DFW, run another round of tests a week later, and maybe a third round. During that period of time all interstate and intrastate business will need to be shutdown. That's not gonna happen.

Gatherings of 500 or more people are now banned at least through March 20. A new case included a resident who contracted coronavirus but did not have any travel history.

People who were smart stocked up on plenty of frozen food and supplies before this hit, so they could stay home and attempt to wait out the worst of it. Everyone that can should be staying home until this peaks. If someone needs to go out for a grocery run or whatever, have it be ONE person that makes all the errand trips. If you have a mask, wear it when around other people.

We bought Frozen 2 for our daughter a couple days ago, so she's content 4 hours of the day (she's been watching it twice a day of course.)

The Eagles just canceled their Mar 17 concert as did Chris Stapleton and the Grand opening of the new Rangers Stadium.
