I'm in Dallas for the week and I wanted to know what towns or cities around Dallas with in 3 hours are worth checking out?

Fort Worth for sure. If you make it to Austin in 3 hours, you will have set a speed record...

Depends on what you like to see. You like small towns with town squares? You like antiquing? Are you a foodie? etc etc.

OKC is on the edge of that 3 hour limit. It is a nice smaller large city to visit.

Along those lines, it adds an extra hour or so to the travel time, but you can take the Heartland Flyer from Fort Worth to OKC for $52 round-trip.

I would recommend Fort Worth first and Grapevine, Granbury, McKinney, Weatherford for browsing/antiquing through the older buildings and shops.

Some cool places:

Jefferson: Welcome to the Official Web site of the historic city of Jefferson, Texas.

Salado: Village of Salado Texas, The Best Art Town in Texas!

And of course Fort Worth!

There are so many things to see in Dallas you don't really have to drive out.
