Interesting thread. At first I thought why revive this thread. But really... some of the comments made 3 years ago , does it change any for PESH now?

Uh, no.

Right now, it's not possible to transfer to PWSH - only PSHS and PESH are open to transfers. But back when PESH residents were given that option, hardly any of them wanted to attend PWSH. From the DMN:

A peek inside Plano ISD school transfer requests | Dallas Morning News

Quote:
2009-2010 school year: Top 10 schools to transfer to

School and number of requests
Plano Senior High School 170
Clark High School 103
Vines High School 71
Haggard Middle School 42
Wilson Middle School 41
Shepton High School 33
Aldridge Elementary 32
Plano West Senior High School 32
Hendrick Middle School 30
Robinson 29
So, at most, 32 PESH people that year wanted to attend PWSH - and it's probably a lot lower than that, as most of those PWSH inflows were likely from the Jasper/Rice/Schimelpfenig area, not the east side.

As for the 2014 look at PESH: pretty bright. The school size is far more reasonable than in the old days - it's PWSH that is now going to be unreasonably overloaded. The enrollment numbers for the IB program (high performers) are through the roof. Over 250 incoming 9th graders are signed up for next year at PESH's IB Academy. Otto is becoming one of the hottest middle schools in PISD, and most of those kids are sticking around at Williams/PESH. I think PISD succeeded in creating a set of school offerings that would satisfy the buyer of a $500K+ house in Richardson, Parker, etc.

Things look very bright for PWSH with already a great record and now with Jasper on board, PESH is in good position with IB & Health Academies. PSH is in a bad spot since they lost a Rice & Jasper but I'm positive that they'll find their balance. I'm happy with new configuration.
