I thought the majority of the pictures were houses. But you see white people in the majority of them? You need to get that checked. Seeing people that aren't there is called schizophrenia.

I hate to see you work so hard to find a few of my amigas in another thread. All you had to do was go to post # 14 and beyond on this thread. More white people than a Camry convention!

Maybe you just haven't been paying attention. I've seen plenty of hispanic and black kids in the pics that Lakewooder has posted. Have they been a majority? No. But maybe that's just because there happens to be more white kids that take theatre or whatever other activity in the pictures he posts. I'm not sure what you're insinuating. Do you think that Lakewooder has photoshopped white kids into those pictures to hide the minorities? Are you asking him to go into the school and take pictures of kids in the hall that choose not to participate in arts or sports?

Your opinion on DISD is well documented. I'm certainly no DISD homer, but if Lakewooder and a few others' pride about their schools bug you that much, it might be better to start a thread pumping up the schools YOU like rather than trying to constantly tear others down.

I'm sorry you don't like the objective information I provided. I realize it can evoke unwanted emotions for those heavily invested in the area.

I am heavily invested in the area, and I love Long and the other schools. Believe me I had some trouble in certain highly-promoted suburban schools.

Long Class Runs Deep « East Dallas Times

"...The J.L. Long Middle School cross country team traveled to Carrollton Christian Academy Oct. 1 to compete at the CCA Invitational.

The Long team consists of a large group, and their accomplishments at this meet are astounding for so many reasons...Three team members, Garret Wood, Mack Reed, and Campbell Hotchkiss, earned special recognition for going extra mile during the meet. Even after completing their 3200 meters run they stayed to cheer on the girls, and when they noticed a lone teammate left on the course they ran to her side and encouraged her to keep up the fight.

Side by side, they all finished the race and brought the day’s event to a close. This kind of sportsmanship did not go unnoticed by the hosts and many other parents from other teams.

The team will run at Thursday’s Long Run and again this weekend at Norbuck Park. Saturday’s meet starts at 10:30..."

J.L. Long Feeder School Happy Hour
Thursday, October 20, 2011, 6:00 pm
The Barley House, 5612 SMU Blvd

From Stonewall Jackson site:

"Did you know that J.L. Long is the first and only time that our kids feed into a school from many schools. There is no other middle school that feeds into Woodrow Wilson High! Why wait to meet your neighbor in 6th grade? Let's start in elementary school. Ms. Peters, J.L. Long Middle School Principal will attend an informal Q&A session with parents. Please come with your questions/rumors about Long. Ms. Petters is ready to answer those questions, and dispel any lingering rumors from the past. We welcome all!"
