That is interesting since the NWS thinks the further SOUTH you go from here, the greater chance of any and more snow, with a possible repeat of this weekend. This map seems to suggest the reverse.

Last discussion I read from BOX says they still don't know if this thing will come north/south/near the benchmark of 40 N 70 W. They believe since the pattern has been south, this will go south too - but then say since it's Day 4, it's too soon to tell.

Some NWS discussion boards are thinking more like 6-12". One interesting point I've been hearing though is the New England blocking high (which was what kept the last two blizzards from getting much north of central NJ) will be much weaker this time around and that alone may get it further north.

If you look at any "snow cover maps" for today on the web, real strange, you see this big "hole" of no snow cover for all of RI, CT, most of MA and most of the NY metro area (a little snow fell in parts of northern NJ and the southernmost parts of the boros), while most of the midwest and the east coast down to almost NC have snow cover.

Now the NWS is thinking more like the above picture, with Philly, NYC and southern CT getting the most snow (10-20") and Boston and DC getting less. Should be interesting......we're kind of due anyway.

I just need to know what's going to happen on Wednesday in my neighborhood and how it will impact walking my dog. I'd like a direct line to the "weather gods" in terms of my particular street. And also a redirect button for ice.

All it takes is a few decades of watching weather patterns.
