So lets hear some seasonal snow totals so far..for selected cities. Is 1996 records possible? Probably not but you never know. I know that year Danbury had about 115-120 inches..

ALL STORMS UPDATE::

Tuesday morning we'll have a couple inches of fresh snow on ground before it changes to freezing rain or sleet and then to rain... NWS showing 2 inches of snow, then less than quarter inch of ice, then over 1 inch of rain.. then temps dip into the teens over night... Its going to be a mess..Be careful on the roads! I really hope the cities and states are watching this because they need to get their salt and sand ready for this one big time.

One model backed off the idea of a storm on the 21st while the other model showing good snows for Mid. Atlantic.

The model that backed off for the 21st shows a Huge Snow Storm affecting us here on the 24th.

Then another storm showing up around the 30th.

Fun times for sure... Stay tuned.

TUESDAY JANUARY 19 UPDATE

Hesitated to do it but Im going to now.... I'll be spending 2 hours at least clearing a path near my foundation for this storm... Here's a situation I pray that its all snow not because I love snow but because I dont want to deal with ice falling from sky on contact or rain...

Some parts of CT are in the Jackpot zone and that means a lot of rain, a lot of ice, or little snow, little ice and some heavy rains.

Either way....I cant take a chance at flooding my home...

Forget the roof...Gutters all frozen up and there's no way to handle that.

Nothern Litchfield and Northern Hartford County and Massachusettes will get almost half a foot of snow tomorrow.

Everyone else should get a couple inches, then ice, then the dreaded rain and flooding.

I hope D.O.T is out there clearing the snow that is blocking the storm drains!

Expect half foot of snow in the morning in Enfield, then 1/4 inch of ice on top of the snow then mix with rain for a little bit then back to snow at night... Be careful out there...

OK, in light of the freezing rain and sleet and ice combo-pack, I realize that I need to entice the offer. The steps leading down to the fenced-in back yard keep freezing, and I'm afraid of Artie taking a serious spill and breaking something.

Anyone willing to walk my dog tomorrow and Wednesday (4-5 times per day) is asked to sign up here:

Enticements:

1. To make it easier, you can sleep over in our guest room. It has its own en-suite bathroom, so it's like living in a B&B. Meals are also included.

2. After each walk, I'll make you hot chocolate. Or soup. Or both. Just tell me what your little frozen heart desires and I'll make it for you.

3. Artie will cuddle with you after each walk. I will not. But I'll still be really thankful.

Sign me up...Can I bring my dog?.... And Depending how far you are, I'll be willing to care for Artie and come back home then go back again... Is this for 1 day only? 4-5 times a day? I dont mind the weather at all and I will put a smile on Artie's face becasue of it... I'll look at his signs to see if he's had enough and wants to go in to warm up.

im more worried about the ice portion of this than any snow incomming...
gonna put down a layer of salt/sand before this heads in hopefully thatll help reduce the ice build up...
weve already cut run off paths and cleared around the foundation...
yick, i hate ice.
