I really think you can find a pattern in anything if you’re looking for it (or try to string one together). NWS/NOAA has been trying to use precursors for decades (a hot summer leads to a cold winter…. a wet fall means heavy winter precip…a dry fall means a wet winter…etc. They have found ZERO linkage to what the previous season might mean for the coming one. At least to my knowledge. It’s fun to guess, fun to speculate, …but that’s all it is a guess.

Based on what they are seeing and how they think some of the teleconnections might line up...here is what NWS/NOAA is predicting for the coming winter:

Wow, leaves are falling fast. Happy to have warmer, dry weather on the way, a lot of clean up to do.

Same here. My leaves are finally falling, time to rake things up. We should have no problem this week...weather is on cruise control...forecast is for sunshine, mild 60's F to lower 70's F by end of week, and bone dry. Could be some patchy frost tonight well inland/higher elevations but odds are low due to maybe some cloud cover overnight. Perfect weather:

First time I'm seeing the 7-day NWS forecast (through next Sunday) with zero chances of precipitation!

I like looking at the airmass at 5000' to see whats happening for the surface.... Double Digit 850s. Warm!

Next rain chance is with the sharp cold front middle next week.

There's now a small chance of rain Sunday night which would technically continue the streak of weekends with precip....but I'm hoping it ends!
