What a crappy week. Wow. Dreary, rainy, cloudy, warm, foggy, looks like a Spring forecast

I guess its better than 30s and rain.

Current map.. SouthEast Ridge pumping. 60s in Indiana. 70s in West Virginia and Southeast.

Note the most important part.........… Pacific flow all the way across except the Rockies and Central Plains where the Upper Low providing cold and snow.

Thast Pacific flow is why we're getting all this rain and 1 reason why its a warm rain

A little technical post to understand how weather patterns are so complex... Want to see why we have been warm, foggy, rainy here in CT?

First… a loop.. This is a look at the flow waaay up in the atmosphere, 80,000 feet. See where we are?

Still image with notations...

We are getting flow from the Pacific, Gulf and Atlantic. No Bueno for cold or snow.

Remember... Our weather patterns comes from the Top, NOT the surface. The mid and upper levels of the atmosphere control our temps and patterns.

But of course terrain, sunlight, buildings, pavements, ect will affect surface temps as well but it's not the control knob

Mid 60s up into Western Connecticut and Lower Hudson Valley! Go outside and enjoy this and don't forget to rev up your gas engines so more warming can happen in winter.
