Noticed the storm is moving at 33mph!

I know thats not the record (record is 60mph for the 1938 "Long Island/New England Express" but its gotta be up there. Hopefully that shortens the duration of high winds

Actually that forward speed will enhance the wind speed though.
It will be an intense 3 or so hours ... especially on the western side of the state.

Eerie calm out there right now.

I can't believe it, so many friends and family are acting like it's just another day... they have no idea what's coming, how is this possible?

This thing is booking! All done in DC & Atlantic City

Incoming...NYC-Long Island. Look at that line coming from the Atlantic last few frames...

Seeing reports of 50mph sustained winds coastal NJ gusts up to 60mph in spots

Definitely an eerie calm out there.

I noticed the cone is now further west than before (i.e. center expected to go over the NJ/PA border instead of just west of NYC). I imagine that means less (if any) rain for CT, not so sure about the wind since I heard the idea is the jet stream will enhance winds east of the center, which could actually mean more wind. The fast movement means it will be for less time though. A tornado was spotted in Ocean City, NJ though.

Have been watching tornado warnings pop up on the eastern side of the storm for hours...

Loop past 4 hrs with wind gusts. Winds picking up on Long Island and NYC now. Newark had a 45mph gust. Trenton and other spots in NJ with 55mph+

Oranges and Reds are just downpours and backyard rivers being made. Pouring. Waves of rain coming off Atlantic.

Note lack of Tornado warnings past couple hours. Guess that's good but don't let guard down.

JFK... 45mph gust just now. So its coming CT. Ugh. Look at your South and East facing sides. That's where the branches/trees and debris will be coming from

.. a little wind and an isolated tornado. Not exactly go buy milk and bread weather. In fact I bet parts of CT get no rain at all.

Now Jersey and Western PA...different story.
