A few weeks back Ch.30 changed their antenna transmitting signal. I rescanned my TVs. I can receive the station, but now consistently I have reception trouble, both audio and video. It will recover after a few seconds, but sometimes it deteriorates enough where I get a 'Low signal' indication. I don't subscribe to cable, and have successfully used an outdoor antenna for about 3 years without any trouble. With the antenna I only watch the Ch.30 news, but to compare today I tuned to Ch.8 in New Haven, and 22 in Springfield. I'm in Vernon, Ch.22 came in with a signal strength of 4 out of 5, Ch.8 at max, 5 bars.

Ch.30 now alternates between 4 - 5 bars. I'm quite sure before it was consistently full strength. I wonder is WVIT now operating with less power than before, or are there other factors due to the change August 1st?

With the repack some stations have changed frequencies but not aware if some are running on a lower power. WFSB was running on low power before 8/2/19 while doing tower work for the repack but seems ok now.

Also, WHPX Channel 26 (ION) moved its transmitter from Montville to Rattlesnake Mountain in Farmington last Friday. Could never get it with my window antenna, but now it comes in clear as a bell. Reception of most stations has been pretty solid since the repack; I did notice that WFSB reception did improve a couple days before the channel switch. I get 3, 8, 19, 20, 24, 26, 30, 59, 61, and 65 (for now) where I am. Can't get WUVN 18, as their transmitter is in South Glastonbury.

I'm close to you - can see the antennas on top of Birch Mt. from my house. I'm on the other side of I-84 but very likely a lower elevation, I think 375'. I'll check the antenna connections. The only time I had trouble before was during a severe storm or very strong wind.

A couple nights ago the signal faded to nothing - for several minutes the TV just displayed 'No signal'. Switched to Ch.3 - full signal strength. JP - looks like you lucked out as a result of the repack.

Just tried 18 - nothing. I do get 19, 20, & 22. Not 24 though which is strange. 40 comes in at a 3, I couldn't get it at all earlier this evening. Maybe I do have antenna trouble on my end. Not a big deal since I'm really not a TV watcher.

Channel 19 is actually a subchannel of channel 30. As for channel 18, I've always though they were on Avon Mountain?

Channel 18's transmitter used to be on Avon Mountain back in the WHCT (and Gene Scott) days. Now, it's on the east side of Glastonbury off Hebron Ave near the Hebron line. I could probably get that (along with the Springfield affiliates, especially Channel 22) with a stronger outdoor antenna.

Have you tried re-scanning? I know they have gotten rid of one of their sub-channels(8.3) but it's coming in fine for me. The only channel I am having issue with is WTIC, lot more pixelation.

I lost channel 3 for a few weeks (not that I missed much with the nightly barf island show). Rescanned just before 8/1 and did it again on 8/1

Which ION are you talking about? We use 22.3

A few nights ago we lost one of the channels for about 5 minutes, completely gone and then it came back as if nothing happened. I suppose we should scan again.
