Usually forecasts are a blend of models. Sometimes they have their own inhouse forecasting model (which typical blends the main ones anyway). I don't forecast, I don't get paid, but I do share what 1 or few of the models are saying..

With all that said... this is based off the HiRes NAM model for Friday 4pm.

No big deal for us in CT, some scattered snow showers for northern CT. Might start after lunch in reality.. It's after this that gets more active for us.. But note... its snowing MA northward by afternoon

Here is 6pm. Sleet and Ice showing up for northern half of CT. Actual timing may be different. Use the actual radar tomorrow and see.

Then this is Saturday morning as the warm air takes over the Northeast. I wonder if Maine will stay frozen precip Saturday now. Main roads should be ok IMO.

Hope this helped.

A Christmas miracle?

GFS12z left. Canadian12z right. Christmas Morning. Both models agree that the storm will form off the coast and drop snow over CT

Looks like we may have a White Christmas after all! Tell the kids Santa is coming on his sleigh!

IF Euro agrees with this at 2pm, I will feel even more confident.

From the 25th on .....things are going to get mighty interesting..a very cold bubble with clippers and coastal development possible into early January. Winter in New England!

nice summary- seems to be the consensus here in most forecasts. 28th imo has more beef to it than the Christmas storm- but who wouldn't mind a few easy inches on the holiday?

I thought maybe the change we had this week was going to last a while... glad it's reverting back to before it. Whenever the Jet dips south things get interesting.

Not sure for Christmas, might be 1-2" sure. Lets get through tomorrow first.

yeah, 29th storm has more punch to it. Arctic air will be in place and 2 Jet streams find each other for marriage. Kinda a Similar set up to Presidents Day storm 2002.

How likely is this? I will gladly take a foot of snow every week until mid February to get 70s in March. I would welcome it with open arms.

I'm just angry at the clouds. Haven't been able to get outside with my telescope.

Well I think this earlier season might bring us to an earlier spring for a change as Cambium said..
