First we get rains with winds from the southwest then we get snow with winds from the northeast.

NWS not grabbing the snow much in the forecast. Just mentioning a mix maybe an inch.

I am hearing 6 inches of snow on CBS. All I see on Accu Weather is rain, wind, and temps in the 40s.

April 2017 we were in the 60s and 70s for 10 days straight (9th-18th) stayed in 50s and 60s rest of month then on the 29th went into the 80s.

The number of heating degree days was the lowest on record. I got 331 that month. Normal for April is 471

https://www.weather.gov/ffc/degdays
I have to look at your link a little more, to see BDL.

And yes, I need to move south anyway lol

But I went back and read posts from last April. Multiple posts of people putting their heat on and bringing in wood all month. Lots of rain, lots of clouds. Posts where it would be fine at noon and cold just a few hours later (I was doing sports clinics and always wearing my sweatshirt despite the activity). Cold and overcast in the morning. Cam, I think you complained there were no 70s, lots of 50s and 60s and then 80s at the end.

There was even complaining for the first few days of May but I didn't go beyond that.

Not sure if this will work as I have my settings for 40 posts per page but this is the beginning of the month for me: https://www.city-data.com/forum/conne...ssion-290.html

Meteorological SPRING

Been waiting some time to post that. Cause for celebration! Let's get some flowers, trees, rain, and mud. Looking forward to snow again in 8 months.

Keep these posts coming. Love hearing and seeing the changes. Liking the early morning light now!

Looks like there will be more chances to get snow this month so you may get your wish. I was getting storm fatigued in 2010-11. And arm since I ran out of room to throw the snow. 65" in 4 weeks time. Insane.

This storm not only will pull in the cold enough air but it will generate its own so we'll have to see the details tomorrow. Rain should change to snow, question is when and how much.

I've grown to want Spring in March only because May can get so hot. I'd like 3 months of spring for once, not 1. lol

NWS Albany has 3-4" for Litchfield County. It's truly a within 12hr forecast. Details are the hardest thing about a forecast and this one has a big Bust potential.

I keep hearing about the bust potential for this storm. I think this refers to uncertainty regarding snowfall. We do know they'll be heavy rain, wind, and coastal flooding. Buckle up for some raw weather! Cam is right, this beast looks intense on the future radar loop. Wow!

New NAM model continues with the heavy snows for us. How much longer will they ignore this model?

Say changeover starts after lunch. NJ might be before CT. Western CT before Eastern.

This is for 3pm tomorrow. It's already snowing hard in Western CT with an intense 978mb storm hovering off the coast.

Don't forget the other thread I have covering outside CT if you're interested.

Question: Once it turns to snow, will it be snow for the remainder? Trying to plan our night tomorrow... supposed to go to a friends gathering in Mamaroneck... fine if it's rain...

Yes. once it changes it will stay snow and then end Friday night.. The winds is what might make you change plans. Blowing snow could be an issue too.

I’d stay home. Even without snow, winds will be fierce enough to blow over a box truck. I was supposed to drive to Fairfield County from DC - not happening tomorrow.
