Same. Couple inches of Snow to Sleet to Rain.

Probably some delays or closings for morning schools. Have to see how it is. Then again it might start AFTER 8am. So by time kids are out it should be rain.

Read what the NAM model is doing.

Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service New York NY
240 PM EST Tue Feb 6 2018

The shortwave moving out of the Rockies and rotating into the
trough will affect the area late tonight through Wednesday
night. High pressure moves off and low and mid level cold air is
replaced as warm advection sets up ahead of the surface and
midlevel low.

Tracks of the GFS and ECMWF remain similar with
the surface low passing across the area and into coast New
England Wednesday and Wednesday night. Thermal profiles of the
GFS and ECMWF support snow and sleet transitioning to all rain
along the coast initially and moving inland through Wednesday
into Wednesday evening.

The NAM remains a little farther inland with the storm track
and warmer. If this scenario occurs much less snow will be
likely even well inland. As such QPF was lowered slightly and
warning level snows are more marginal where a winter storm watch
remains in effect, western Passaic, Orange and Putnam counties.

With the uncertainty and still some time to resolve evolution
of the storm will keep the watch as is. Advisory snow and a
light freezing rain will be possible just to the south, across
eastern Passaic northeast into Rockland, and into North New
Haven counties. Again will not issue any advisories at this
time.

With the quick flow, now a little quicker to end precipitation
late Wednesday night.

BTW ... Tomorrow may be our best chance for snow for next 2 weeks.

While my prediction of an Early Spring (50s & 60s February & March) might end up wrong, I don't see any big snowstorm threats till end of month now. Just not the right pattern .

There's always March. lol.

I feel like this winter in CT has been snow-less. Not mild, but very little snow. Not sure how that stacks up with the stats..

NO, really? Yeah, I knew it couldn't be real, but it's pretty bad such a mistake was made to thousands of people.

Well, I guess it was better than a fake missile warning....

I believe because of a snowy December and early January everyone is still above normal for seasonal snowfall, but if we get barely any in February that could change.
