So it was sad to see fallen trees, bare trees, some boarded homes, sandslides, eroded coast/dunes and islands ... There was one area which you were able to walk from island to island during "high" tide 10 years ago...

It was medium tide yesterday morning and there was almost nothing to walk on except a small part. Meaning over the years storms have eroded this strip of dune going across.. About 5 feet height worth

This is that strip you were able to walk across on.(not where the birds are, the middle sand bar barely sticking up and it wasnt High tide)

Slipperman, that apartment complex reminds me SO much of my days living in The Village at Wethersfield. Looks a lot like it.

funny you mention that. i've had my eye on the Village for a few years now and the main reason why is because it's the only other place i've seen so far that compares to The Ridge amenities wise (central, w/d in unit, etc). in fact if i get the job i'm up for right now (Rt 5 E Hartford), i'm gonna finally move. been in Mtown for 6+ yrs now. love the area but it's time for a change.

how was your experience there?

I am pretty sure they were built by the same developer and about at the same time. I am not sure but it may have been Tramwell Crowe but I could be wrong. Jay

Its possible. Here in Stamford there are a few complexes that were built by Avalon and they were managed by them, but then they sold them to some other companies. There are a few Avalon built and managed places in Stamford, but you can tell which ones they sold because on the columns of the perimeter fence, they usually have the logo of Avalon engraved on the cement. LOL

They also have the distinctive Avalon architectural style. So I don't doubt something similar may had happened with Slipperman's complex.

it was previously known as Windsor Ridge before Fairfield properties bought them out and renamed it to Middletown Ridge. in fact Town Place apartments on the other side of 217 look not just similar but exactly like the Ridge (internally and externally) so i'd imagine the same developer was involved in those as well. now owned by the Baker Companies.
