I think you are right about Sherwood Island.

Great photos! Thanks for sharing. There is a very nice area in Milford, showing a lovely sea marsh that eventually goes to the ocean, bordered on the very far side by the Sikorsky airport/plant. That is worth a trip! :-)

Two weeks ago I was headed for the Caribbean and look and behold what I manage to see through the airplane window, Stamford! I identified the city due to the Landmark building, which is quite visible in the photo. Also the Shippan peninsula and on the left the Greenwich Point peninsula are clearly visible. In the foreground is Long Island.

I didn't thought I was the only amateur photographer that hate photographing Connecticut during late autumn, all of winter, and early spring.

This thread is so dead. LOL

Hmm, I might use this weekend to photograph some of the Christmas decorations in the lower Fairfield county area. Don't hold your breath for this, there's a big chance the cold might make me change my mind or I might do the shots from the car, which would affect the quality of the photos. We'll see what happens...

Thus, some photos have that HDR-ish look, although the camera has the capability of creating true HDR photos. I haven't uploaded any, at least not in this forum.

When I take photos with my tripod, they just come out a-w-e-s-o-m-e. I have been photographing with D-SLR cameras since 2008 and with the D5100 since last year, and I'm still amazed at what I can do with this camera.
after your last post (the last in the thread that is), i was going to ask you to repeat your vital info (camera, post-processing, etc) but i did a search and found the quoted thread and was shocked to see that you have a Nikon D5100 - the same camera i just bought for myself but haven't really started to use yet. now i'm psyched that my camera has the capability of creating the same sharp, rich looking photos you've been posting here.
but you may have to give me some tips on how to create HDR photos cos i don't think its covered in the user guide.

The last few days of autumn along the Connecticut coast.

The effects of hurricane Sandy are still visible in this last photo.

That would be the coastal Audubon center. Free to park and very beautiful:

The Coastal Center at Milford Point | Connecticut Audubon Society

I like to go there to "get away from things". Very relaxing.

I love seeing the Christmas lights in downtown Milford. Milford for sure is one town with lots of character.
