That is a great photo, thanks for posting it. It's hard to believe it's the same Connecticut that I live in (in the bustle and crowds of lower FFC).

Awesome! Was doing some research on that spot, looks like they have a cave and other interesting things. Short trail though.

July 11, 2016. Awesome clouds and morning today! Temps in the upper 60s.

Love these little stores in country side / rural areas. Lyme, CT or East Haddam. Strange looking thin trees makes it looks like Spring.

See anything?

How about now?

Tiffany Farm on RT156

Cool spot, CT River flows into this cove area.

Looking thin.

Arrived at Gillette Castle in East Haddam.. Too cool! Like a medieval fortress.

It took 20 men, 5 yrs to build in 1914-1919.. Purchased by the state in 1943. 47 doors and not 2 are the same. DEEP: Gillette Castle State Park

CT River in the back

Spoiler

The view from the back of the Castle... Connecticut River.

Larger Size Panorama.(5690 x 1199)

Unfortunately I went too early and the Castle wasn't open for touring yet. So.......

................To be continued in the Fall................

I too like Gilette Castle, but I have only been there once. Hm... There's a good getaway idea for one of these summer weekends.

After the storms yesterday we had a wicked sunset all around the area. People were posting them.

Here's mine. No editing. It was firey red and pink then some blues and purples mixed in.

I still don't know how to get the foreground light with the sky but I'm happy my camera actually got the actual colors right.

July 27-28, 2016

Had an awesome ride through Weston,CT:

Driveway was like 1/3 mile long into woods to get to a house. Love it.

Even passed over some brooks and streams

And another

Connecticut at its finest..

Thought I found a nice spot to compare seasons with.. just realized, it's mostly Evergreens so not sure Fall and Spring will have any dramatic looks. but I'll check.

Route 136 Easton.

I forget exactly where but I just love being in rural / country like areas and seeing just 1 or 2 mom & pop stores... and an old gas pump?

Jeremiah Road Newtown, CT..

From I-287. White Plains, NY

New Tapanzee Bridge over the Hudson River.

Higher than the old bridge. Good for those 1000 yr floods and the Titanic.

Never been to the West side of the River.. I have to admit, it was a nice ride with views and less congestion

Facing Westchester

Condo living by the River in Haverstraw, NY. Views in the back were nice. They had little streets within the entire complex, which was huge.

Look familiar? Newburgh Beacon Bridge

Wanna climb?

In Spring Valley there are so many Orthodox Jews that at times it feels as if one left the USA. lol

It has been many years since I have been to Rockland County, NY. I agree, it's very beautiful and picturesque.

Thanks. And thanks for the correction.

That ride on RT 202 is awesome on both sides. I should try to go back in the fall.
