Love these 2 pics! Yeah, the heavy wet snow made things pretty but its not good for the Evergreens. I had to shake my Arbs off before more broke off. Will have a few more pics later.

Forgot to post these.

Feb 5, 2016

Same day in the Evening. The Sun melting most of what was on the trees and ground but an amazing glow "opposite" the sunset. Facing Northeast!

Best time to go to the beach IMO! lol

24°F(-4C) with wind gusts 30mph+ so felt like near 10°F(-12C)

Nice cloud structures. Snowpack was generally about 2-4".

The sound usually calm all the time was sloshing around a bit. But something intrigued me ... usually I see Long Island from left to right but something obstructing it today. Fog? Clouds? Sea Smoke??

Closeup
Usually you see the land but notice it's being obscured in the distance?

Took a nice walk on the beach. Waited for a snow squall but none came. Looked like it was over the Atlantic

Whoa!! It was. Those clouds were some Ocean Effect Snow Squalls.

Here's the Satellite and Wind Chill Values.

Beautiful Sunny day I couldn't resist going back. Air Temp 13°F(-10.5C) at the shore.

As I drove up noticed a few cars in the lot and some people walking around. My type of people.

I'm heading to that pier.

Another walker. Winds were blowing so had to feel like to 5°F(-15C)?

Stopped to take this pic first.

Edges starting to freeze over. But nothing like last year this time.

Boards were cracking and popping. lol Hope they used good lumber. This was rebuilt after Hurricane Sandy destroyed the other one which was MUCH shorter. They made this one extend out much more which is cool!

Wonder how far you can see with that thing. I never even tried.

At the end. So beautiful out here. Hung out for a little. No, no jacket or scarf. Cold wasn't even getting through my sweatshirt.

Interesting.

Aren't they cold? Long Island Sound water temps in low-mid 30s. But on the other side in the Atlantic low 40s.

On the way back I noticed the pond freezing over. Stopped and got out took some pics.

This pond was ice free 3 days ago, now has a glaze of ice.

Full Post from last years pictures. Incredible to witness last year

It's still February but Spring is Sprouting. My Tulips are emerging. Last year we were buried under 1-2 feet of snow until mid-end of March!

March 4, 2016.

Left Upside down on purpose. Thought this looked pretty darn cool. The water looks like the sky!

From Stamford, CT this morning

Can't see Long Island. Flurries here, Snowing there.

My Holly still has some Berries.

Pretty design!

Do I shovel, Sweep, or just let it melt?

27°F(-3C) now, 65°F(18C) in 4 days

This is how my backyard looked 1 year ago. Snowpack was still 1.5 feet with piles over 4 feet.

3/17/16

New Canaan, CT

Interesting! Just sitting there an old gas pump.

Lot's of British folks in New Canaan

A view this morning of Merrit Parkway. You're starting to see the red tint from the buds breaking out on the Maples. Surprised those Pines didn't drop yet. Amazing. They are disappearing from the area slowly.
