Islip has more snow than Bridgeport and Hartford so far this snow season. Providence has more than Albany, Boston or Hartford.

I guess the October snow curse is over??? lol

The 21.5" on that map for BDL is inaccurate. They have not recorded Thursday's snow for some reason. If you go to the BOX website, it shows that on the 8th their total for the season was 0.7" for the month and 20.8" for the season. But their report for the 9th shows "MM" (missing) for the snow total and then they added 0.7" from last night's snow to get their current totals at 1.4" for the month and 21.5" for the season. Based on nearby spotter reports, they had to have gotten at least a foot of snow on Thursday and their total seasonal snowfall should be somewhere in the 30-40" range. I'm not sure how to contact BOX about this so if you know a way please feel free to. I know BDL has a sad history of sometimes "missing" snow (there are entire seasons in the late 1990s and early 2000s with partial or completely missing info).

I did a little more digging and there is a similar issue with Worcester, who should probably also show a snow total about 10" or so more than it is. Worcester even shows its "snow depth" as "MM" (missing) though BDL correctly shows it as 13", which probably gives some idea of the magnitude of the error. Boston had it as well (if you look at the F6 record on the BOX site it still shows 2/9 as "missing" but they must have fixed it in some way because their climate reports correctly show 12.9" for the month).

Eh...

Looking for attention. This is a classic case of someone biting his nose off to spite his face. The snow didnt happen when HE wanted it..so now instead of enjoying the winter weather he chooses to act all spiteful about it.

Thanks. I sent the webmaster a message. It's like nobody else in their office looks at their own data. This isn't the 1940s or 1990s anymore. Gees. lol

They dropped to 4° yesterday morning? Damn. Fresh and deep snowpack always helps.

Tomorrow is a true north south storm. NYC will get little if any snow. North of Merritt 2-4/.. North of 84 4-6 .. And more as you go further north. This storm should be watched closely if you are going to travel tomorrow especially in that area from Merritt to 84. I have a funny feeling this storm will have a colder core than they think.

Thanks. BOX used to have a lot of great climate information about past years etc but all that seems to have been taken off....I used to think OKX had one of the worst NWS climate sittes (great info on Central Park but almost nothing on the other sites, still somewhat true) but BOX's is even more lacking now.

I'll be driving from Vermont to CT tomorrow morning (7 am to 12 pm), assuming leaving earlier is better than later. Fingers crossed!

For New Fairfield/Sherman area - should I be paying attention to the Fairfield county forecast, or do you think my area might be more in line with Litchfield county totals? Seems like there's going to be a stark dividing line with this one, and not really sure which forecast I should be preparing for. Thanks
