Just saw this on the NWS BOX forecast discussion. The "new" Cam and probably many others on this forum will be happy to read this:

Indications of a pattern shift pointing towards a moderating warmer
temperature trend into late February. Trying to make sense of it,
perhaps a result of what appears to be cyclonic wave breaking over
the CONUS related to the phase shift of the MJO (7 to 8 to neutral)
or rather the stratospheric polar low shifting from N Canada into N
Asia with more the better region of cross-polar flow situated over W
Europe. Either which way signals of +2 standard deviation H5 heights
along with a considerable H85 temperature anomaly, up to +20C, over
the N-Central CONUS into Canada stretching NE across our area with
time. No surprise to see above-average temperature CPC forecasts out
for 6-10/8-14 days. Keep in mind that`s averaged out for the period.
More surprising though is the 3-4 week above average forecast. The
end of winter?

Looks like there's 2-3 feet of snow on ground already across parts of Maine and another 1-2 feet today. Nuts.

The huge NorEaster has a pressure of 976mb now off coast of Maine.

High Pressure over Center of the Country plus the storm = tight pressure gradient. See the red lines? The narrower the gap, the stronger the winds.

This storm Wednesday or Thursday seems very hard to predict for meterolgist. First rain/snow mix, then rain/snow mix Wednesday into Thursday, then Snow all day Thursday, then rain all day Wednesday, then nothing, and now rain/snow mix Wednesday morning.

Storm Bomb off coast of Maine at this moment. I'm seeing 10-18" of new snow from this storm alone Boston into Maine. NUTS! See that band of purple rotating into Maine? INTENSE SNOWS under that. Blizzard underway.

Loop from last 4hrs. 6-10am this morning.

Satellite View. NorEaster has an Eye!

Boston has received 5" of snow and isn't expecting much more. This is a Maine event and what an event it is!

Yeah, I haven't even kept up with the monthly totals or how many storms they've gotten. Ski resorts must be ecstatic about all this.

Is that how much Logan got? I didn't check. Look at the loop I posted, I should of said Boston "burbs" into Maine then.

Here's a close up showing there was 7-10" snowfall totals around Boston.

Here's the text reports from Taunton. 10-16" in Franklin County, MA which is north central borders Vermont)
