Looks like we got some agreement for Saturday.

Front end thump snows. Starts Saturday morning and changes to rain Saturday afternoon. Snows for good few hours. I think we get tally another 1-4" under our belt again.

Heads up shoppers for Saturday morning.

Latest GFS not as cold as previous runs but still cold...

Friday morning temps.

Whats crazy is..... this is the second time fresh Arctic air has come in just in time for a storm or front which is helping us get the front end snows but unfortunately a warm surge from the south is changing it to rain.

If it wasn't for these arctic intrusions, we wouldn't be getting any snow and we would be talking about a late year for snow and lack of it.

I think the snow showers (and thus clouds) Thursday night is one reason why the low temperatures are trending warmer (though still rather cold).

I think we have been spoiled over the last 15 years with East coast storms. I remember back in the 80's and 90's the Lake cutter storms seemed to be much more predominant. Since 2000 we have seen mostly coastals. Looks like the cutter is making a comeback this year.

Something to look out for tonight-per NWS:

Quote:
NOTE that if low pressure develops farther
north than predicted, the precipitation would be more widespread
with light accumulations.

The ground temp hasn't really dropped, yet, has it? I'm sitting on rock, rock and more rock. Seems like it's warmer.

Swing and a miss with this precip.. Whatever is falling isn't disappearing much either with the cold around.
