Our house and neighborhood is also on red rock so I like to be safe than sorry. Also power outages can be a PITA even though we live in Wallingford I have two fridges that I'd like to keep running, especially when they are loaded with frozen pumped milk for the baby.

We went 4-5 days without power from Katrina and thankfully I had a generator to keep us charged, fed, and connected. It never hurts to be somewhat prepared and since I have not kept up with our "kit" it's a good time to take inventory.
Whatever floats your boat. I understand when a disaster is possible to prepare and if you need to update that's great. But you are preparing for literally NOTHING in this event...

I would assume the energy from it would get exhausted especially with land interaction on the East side of it. From what I see it does weaken. 1 day at a time.

Think about what they are going through down there right now. Boarding up, bread and milk, generator checks, evacuating, sandbagging, setting up timelapse cameras, buying sump pumps, praying, ect. This isn't a Cat 1 that's about to clip them on the East coast of Florida.

And just get ready for the "you know what" headlines out there. Don't forget how long its been since one hit them or since we had a major Hurricane hit the U.S
