3-5". The later it starts snowing the less that will accumulate. Working against time in a sense

I still think roads will be fine. Are plows out there at least salting? Maybe not, was in 50s today

It's 45 sporadic showers. Can't see much coming from this storm bring so warm outside.

A couple of things:

1) No snow days yet so no pressure and the less snow days, the earlier you get out. And remember, the teachers have to work later then the students too, so just because the kids get out on June 18 or whatever, the teachers probably aren't done until like June 20 or 21. And more snow days equals later time in the summer grading for the teachers (and also remember they start earlier then the students too!)
2) With the 50 degree temperatures we've been having it will have to really snow...a hard and for an extended period of time to really stick and cause dangerous conditions.
3) I'm not sure if this is the case or not but I believe if you call in a delayed opening you CANNOT have an early dismissal on the same day (7 Wishes or any other educator let me know if this is actually true or not). So if that is indeed the case and these administrators take your advice and call in the delayed opening tonight, but it turns out the worst of it is going to be a 2 PM, then I think the school districts are screwed.
Edit: 1 last thing I forgot to add
4) The school districts are already scheduled to have next Friday (the 12) and the following Monday (the 15) off for Presidents day. And I think this storm coming up next week (Monday to Wednesday time frame) is going to be worse than this one is. So the administrators cancel school today. The other storm comes in Tuesday mid morning and stays until Wednesday afternoon and drops a foot let's say, so they give kids an early dismissal Tuesday, cancel Wednesday, and give them a delayed opening Thursday. So in a 10 day span (7 school day span) they'd have 2 scheduled days off, 2 cancelled days, 1 delayed opening, and 1 early dismissal. That's A LOT of missed time in a short amount of time.

I was coming back from Avon & Southington tonight and when I got on 84 in Southington I saw freezing rain which lasted about a couple minutes and then nothing for the rest of the trip back to Trumbull.

Current radar with metars. Raining in Eastern Long Island and MA. Snowing elsewhere. Cement like snow out there.
