There's 2 storms.

1st weaker storm coming up now.
2nd bigger storm still in Texas. Heavy rains for us tomorrow

Again I'm thinking maybe if something does happen, fear of lawsuits? I'm thinking with the roads warm instead of cold this time will be harder to stick at least before dark and have a feeling it will be wet snow south of the Merritt. I could see it in places like Danbury where there's a bigger chance of sticking snow and freezing rain though.

I've noticed they all haven't jumped on the bandwagon, noteworthily Greenwich, Norwalk and Trumbull have not so far. Norwalk and Stamford usually follow each other in synch so kind of surprised by that.

New NAM12z just out shows more moisture around and enough cold air. Has a 3-6" widespread event in CT this evening. Clears out after midnight.

6-7" for somewhere in Litchfield County.

This is based off 10:1 ratios. IT WILL NOT BE 10:1 for everyone so take 1-2" off this..

The focus is for Western CT for more snow than Eastern. This is only 1 model. I don't have time to keep checking the rest every 3hrs. Wish I got paid to. Stay safe all.

Wait, so it went from barely a coating to now 3-6"? I've got tickets for Deadpool tonight and really wanted to go. So what's the call here, are we in for a dusting/nothing much or getting something measurable in northern New Haven (WFD, North Haven).

I was just thinking of this thread when I was reading the Weather Wisdom column in the Boston Globe. The temperatures obviously don't apply to CT, but the general gist of the article probably still applies. Our meteorologist frequently writes articles that discuss weather topics beyond the typical "Today's temperature is blah blah blah". Is there a local CT meteorologist that goes into such deep analysis and explains it in layman terms?

As noted in some recent graphics I posted, it's far from unprecedented, in fact if you look at some other data back in those colder 1800s and early 1900s it was more common then to be subzero but then go to 50 degrees a week or two later, they did have warm spells in winter, it just wasn't as warm (i.e. 50s instead of 60s, they sometimes had 60s as well, just not as often).

But as the article notes, nighttime lows, especially in the summer, have gone up.

Just getting gusts of wind now. It's close pushing into the area now. You can feel, see and smell the snow coming

Hey guys, how are my images? New Resolution on laptop I feel like the images are too big to post now. Don't expect everyone to answer. Just tell me if they are too big I guess.
