Parkville Market Project Attracting Substantial Interest From Food Vendors, Restaurants Around Hartford - Courant Community

Developer Carlos Mouta said he has received a flood of interest from vendors seeking a spot at the venue.Thirty-five companies have applied for 22 slots on the Parkville Market’s main floor. Mouta said he is talking with 15 or 20 vendors for the upper level – he is hoping for 35 – but it is early in the process. He is not requesting public assistance. He plans to fund the development with a bank loan.

The project is awaiting final approval from the city.

UConn's Board of Trustees will be voting on selling the now vacant West Hartford campus to Seven Stars Cloud Group for the development of their corporate headquarters there. The sale price is $5.2 million which is a lot more than West Hartford was going to pay UConn for the property. I would assume that the sale will return the property to the tax rolls so the town will make out with additional tax revenue. Jay

The former UConn campus is on Albany Avenue so it is no where near Flatbush Avenue which is in the Elmwood part of West Hartford to the south. Jay

Finally a place where I can get drunk and throw axes. I predict within a year someone will lose a finger or worse.

It's on Asylum Avenue. But, as you say, still the other end of town from Elmwood.

Any one see the story about Hartford blocking 24hr stores and gas stations? I see their reasoning, but those kind of places really are part of what makes a city work. Very important near Hospitals etc. I wonder if there isn't some middle ground solution to fixing the problems caused by requiring changes to stay open longer, better lighting security cameras redesigned parking and entrances etc.

Professional soccer is coming to Hartford's Dillon Stadium next year. The efforts to upgrade the stadium appear to have paid off. Nice addition to the city. Jay
