Northern CT vs Southern CT roads. While back roads near the coast are snow covered, it's so Typical to see I-95 near the coast wet not white.....for now... while I-91 looks slick already. Snowing about the same amount everywhere.

I'm in S/E Connecticut. Roads seem to be fine right now, but my driveway is starting to get covered up with snow. However, just walked my daughter to a neighbor's house and it seems more like a wintry mix with mostly snow than 100% snow.

Funny I was looking up Anchorage too.....which is why I believe the "Ice Age" theories even less than the "global warming" ones

Got a weird feeling about this one. Thinking western CT got underestimated. That inverted trough is the real question.

Weirddddd feeling about this...

Lightning being detected in PA. This thing is a beast and forming much south more. Will CT be in the Banding line of fire???

And hello South more... This thing is redeveloping around DC. Means more time to strengthen south of us and bring a "slightly" bigger storm? Lets see what happens.

colder then now coming up this week.

You know,

I know i read studys showing ice ages have happened within a decade but didn't think it would happen in a couple months. Lol
Lock it in. Can't wait.

Was just reading Uptons AFD. I think there are going to be some surprises from this...They mention SW CT and Central CT as possibilities for the snow band. Will be interesting to see where it sets up.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH SUNDAY/... FIRST BATCH OF SNOW HAS OVERSPREAD THE AREA AND SHOULD GENERALLY PRODUCE 1 TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW THROUGH AROUND 7 PM. WHILE THE MODELS ALL AGREE ON THE GENERAL TRACK OF THE SURFACE AND UPPER LEVEL FEATURES WITH THIS STORM...THERE ARE STILL QUITE A BIT OF DIVERGENCE IN THE DETAILS. THE NAM/CMC AND TO A LESSER EXTENT THE ECMWF SUGGEST A PRECIPITATION MINIMA WILL DEVELOP OVER CT/FAR EASTERN LONG ISLAND OVERNIGHT...WHILE THE GFS/SREF HAVE THE HEAVIEST SNOW OVER THE SAME AREA. MESO- SCALE MODELS DO LEAN TOWARDS THE NAM/CMC IN WANTING TO PLACE THE TROWAL AND ITS ASSOCIATED SNOW BAND FROM CENTRAL-WESTERN LONG ISLAND ON NW INTO EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY/SW CT...WHILE THE GFS PLACES IT OVER CT/CENTRAL/EASTERN LONG ISLAND...THE ECMWF S OF LONG ISLAND/NYC. NOTING THUNDER OVER SW PA/N WV AHEAD OF THE UPPER LOW...HAVE A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR SOME THUNDER SNOW AS WELL. NOT ENOUGH CONFIDENCE IN THIS OCCURRING THOUGH TO PLACE IN THE FORECAST AT THIS TIME

.SHORT TERM /SUNDAY NIGHT/... THE COLDEST AIRMASS OF THE SEASON ARRIVES SUNDAY NIGHT...WITH LOWS FORECAST TO BE FROM AROUND ZERO IN THE NYC METRO/LONG ISLAND (EXCEPT UP TO 5 ABOVE ON THE TWIN FORKS) AND SINGLE DIGITS BELOW ZERO ELSEWHERE. THESE COMBINED WITH NW WINDS 10-25 GUST 30-40 MPH WILL PRODUCE WIND CHILLS OF 25 TO 30 BELOW ACROSS NORTHERN INTERIOR ZONES.

BDR went down to 3 degrees this morning, tying the record low for the date set in 1979
